Time to Hit the Beach!

Summer’s here! Time to hit the beach! Time to slim down for me to fit in my bikini. Ouch. I think I’ll have to work on that as hard as I could. It’s not gonna be easy, what with the pounds I gained before, during and after the wedding. Spell di-le-mma.

If I am only attending a prom, all I need to do is get myself a plus size prom dress and I’ll be good to go. But this is beach escapade we’re talking about. Somehow, there’s a pressure on the girls (not so much on the boys!) to show off some nice figure and don some good beach wear. Haha.

The Adjustment Period

Right after the wedding comes the adjustment period. It starts when you and your partner (in my case, it’s my dear husband) move to your new house. The moment you sleep together in one bed, you feel the need to adjust. For me, it was more like adjusting to the thought that from that time on, I will sleep with the same man every night and welcome each day in the arms of the same person.

The adjustment period may be thought-provoking and worrisome for many people, but I find it quite manageable and fun, too. Perhaps, it’s because I went steady with my man for seven years before we decided to tie the knot. Such a long period of time gave me most, if not all, of the information I needed to know about him. I also saw him and spent time with him almost everyday in the last seven years so if there was anything I needed to know, I’m sure I’ve learned of it prior to our big day.

New Life

Our wedding was a success, and as solemn and meaningful as we wished for it to be…thank God! All the hard work that we put into it paid off. And I can’t thank enough all the people who helped made our dream wedding come true. Just thinking about all of them and their contributions to our wedding can make my tear ducts go on overdrive any moment. Thank you so so very much from the bottom of my heart. You know who you are.

My new life as a wife has just started. I can’t wait for the many challenges, adventures and milestones that I’m going to have. I know it’s not gonna be easy and smooth-sailing all the time, but I’ll see to it to keep the faith and work hard to make things work. This is a blessing from God. I really wished for this to happen and so I’m gonna take good care of this gift.

Some Wedding-Related Ideas

There was a wedding held in the restaurant where I work this morning. I was on duty so I saw everything from the table setting to the little decorations that they setup inside the ancestral house to create their desired look. I think the theme was vintage and based on what I saw, they definitely chose the perfect venue and achieved the vintage feel that they wanted.

Having been there witnessing the turn of events including the program has made me really inspired. I hope my upcoming wedding becomes just as beautiful and memorable. I also got some ideas from that particular wedding which I hope to replicate in my own wedding. Like one of the games where they gave out a new cell phone and the trivia game where some chosen guests participated.

The Bridal Shower

Last Friday night was a blast. I had my bridal shower in our future house in Bacoor and it was attended by my close friends. We were supposed to hold it in a condotel somewhere in Quezon City but the organizer (my Superfriend Nice) and I had a change of plan a few days before. It was the best decision ever because it turned out to be double the fun.

We ate and drunk and played some parlor games. I also treated my guests to a relaxing massage courtesy of our fave masseuse. While most of my guests went home after the party, around five people stayed and slept over. The next day, it was “chikahan galore” over breakfast and eventually, over light snacks.

The 18-Day Challenge

This is a personal challenge that I have thrown at myself this morning. For 18 days leading to my big day, I am to monitor my food intake (making sure that I eat lesser than usual) so I could fit in my wedding gown have a more decent and desirable figure on my big day. Haha.

So yeah, starting today February 28 up to March 16, 2012, I am gonna be conscious of what I eat. I’ll also try to cut back on carbohydrates which are the building blocks of those excess and unwanted pounds. This challenge is more of a test of my self-control and though I’m not expecting too much, I will still give it my best.
