Shopping Ban = Fail

My efforts to not shop until December 1 was a big fail. I rang the shopping alarm last Friday when I took a leave from work to finish some errands. I happened to pass through the Landmark Department Store in Makati and it instantly became the venue of the crime. What made the matter worse was the fact that I was with my mother that time. We actually shopped together!

One can never say no to a smart, funny, loving, caring and persuasive mother. Or so I found out. It was just impossible not to give in to the wonderful things my mom was saying about those clothes and accessories. It was like she custom-made all of those items for me and what I only needed to do was buy and take them home. So off the good daughter approached the payment counter and bought them all. She even paid for the stuff her mom wanted for herself. Haha.

A Mini-Reunion

It’s sad that in our little clan, we only get to see everybody during two occasions: weddings and funerals. My aunt (on my father’s side) died of heart attack yesterday morning. Along with the fiancee, my parents and my brother D, I visited her wake in Loyola Commonwealth last night. Her remains are gonna stay there for two days before being transported to Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija for the burial.

At the wake, I saw a lot of my relatives whom I had not seen for so long. We chatted the night away sharing family stories and reminiscing old times. I felt good and relaxed. I wish we could meet up more often. I understand that we’re all leading busy lives. But still, we should make time for small gatherings and reunions. Life is too short and unsure that making the most of these events are a must.

Weekend Stories: It’s All Good

Last weekend was quite hectic but super fun. On Saturday, I did a special assignment in the office in the morning before attending the much-anticipated Blogapalooza event at Fully Booked Boni High in the afternoon. The former made me a bit tired but good thing the later brought back my energy with its festive atmosphere and cool surprises. Plus, I got to see a lot of my old and new blogger friends again.

When dinnertime came, I met up with the fiancee and we enjoyed Filipino food. Saturday was also the eve of our monthsary and so we stayed at this awesome hotel that lay in the heart of Manila. We wanted to jog the next morning (Sunday) but we weren’t able to do so because we woke up late. To make up for this, we decided to walk our way to our respective houses after checking out of the hotel.

Dreaming of Tagaytay

The past days have been very toxic for me. I have been literally swamped with work and couldn’t do anything about it. I remember asking for some pampering the other day and look what landed on my hands this afternoon – a voucher from some groupon site for an overnight accommodation in Tagaytay courtesy of the fiancee!

Maybe he’s been feeling the same thing. That we badly need a weekend getaway to relax and rejuvenate our tired bodies. The Tagaytay voucher came just in time. Aside from being made of awesome, cheap vouchers are a life saver. From the original price of P4,600, the fiancee got ours for almost P1,900 only. Amazing.

Good Job

Last weekend was a blast. It was fun and productive for me. On Saturday, I got to work and earn some money from my part-time work. I also finished some errands with the help of the fiancee. My achievement for the day? I was able to eat in moderation despite all the food temptations that surrounded me. Plus points for my weight loss efforts!

On Sunday, I spent the morning with the fiancee and his mom traveling to Cavite to check out his house. We were joined by two home builders which he had summoned to discuss some home improvement projects with. They agreed to push thru five projects first then the rest would follow after more funds get generated.
