Last weekend was quite an adventure. On Saturday, the hubby and I drove to Monasterio de Santa Clara in Katipunan to say some prayers. From there, we went all the way to Marikina to go shoe shopping at Pelina Shoes. It’s a shoe factory/shoe shop that sells women’s ballet flats, mules, sandals, and slippers in various designs. (We also saw a few pairs of loafers for men there.) We then headed for BGC to take our chance with Shake Shack but ended up dining at Din Tai Fung because the queue at the former was super long, as in.
Weekend Story: At Work in Baguio City
Last weekend was a working one. Our office director and I went up to Baguio City for a work mission which turned out fine. There was heavy traffic on our way back to Manila but it was bearable and we were able to get home safe. I missed Baguio, the sights, the smell, the food, and of course, the cool weather. I was glad to have been back even for an overnight stay only.
Weekend Story: Family Time + House Renovation Preps
Last weekend was quite hectic. On Saturday, the hubby and I did household chores in the morning, went to church in the afternoon, and spent the night watching Netflix at home. On Sunday, we accompanied my extended family in purchasing materials for their house renovation courtesy of my sister Jodie. They even bought a new aircon unit because the old one they were using (which was sort of donated to them by my FIL) was acting up already. The time we spent at Wilcon Depot Bacoor and Alabang Town Center were both productive and pleasurable.

Review: Madison Easy Tote by Costal Bags
After having acquired a Coach bag recently, I found myself getting another bag. It was from Instagram seller Costal Bags (@costal.bags). It was an easy decision to make as I had extra funds to spare and the bag I got was one of a kind. It’s a leather tote in the color I like — dark taupe.
Weekend Story: Mother’s Day Celebration + National Elections 2019
Last long weekend was busy but fun and meaningful. It was Mother’s Day on Sunday so I planned something special for Mame. She just wanted to take a dip in the pool (she loves to swim float, lol) but I wanted more for her because she deserved it. I initially wanted to take her to the beach but the beach resorts we liked in Batangas were mostly fully booked. There were open slots for day tours but the hubby said nakakapagod mag-drive at di sulit kung balikan lang kami. I looked some more until I came across this Mother’s Day promo posted on the FB page of Batangas Country Club (BCC) which consisted of an overnight stay for a family of four with breakfast and a free dinner buffet and massage for mom, all for just PhP4,500 nett. It was a great deal so I booked it right away. It turned out to be a relaxing staycation for Mame, my sister Jodie, the hubby, and me.

Weekend Story: Embracing Simplicity
Last weekend was quiet and simple. We stayed home to rest. We went out of the house to do some errands and unwind a bit. We spent time with my extended family. We took care of and were amused by Jasper our pet dog. It was kinda fun and invigorating.
I just love simple weekends. I actually don’t like making many weekend plans. I prefer going with the flow or just following where the hubby wants to go. I get excited with spontaneous trips to places I haven’t been to. But as much as possible, I want to limit my activities to going to the wet market and cooking, activities I enjoy doing most. I also enjoy cleaning up my stuff (read: decluttering) but it’s something I want to prepare for, mentally and physically, so I could give my best to it and see good results.
