Another Job Opportunity, Another Stake at Career Growth

When I got invited for employment testing at some big organization two months ago, I got very ecstatic and overly excited. I prepared for it the best I could. When the date of the interview came, I gave it my best shot. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it. Either I wasn’t the best among the short-listed candidates or it was just fate playing on me.

They say when a door closes, a window opens. Last Saturday (Bonifacio Day), another job opportunity from another big organization presented itself through an email. After months of applying online, they noticed me. This time around, I’m doubling my efforts to get hired. The selection process for this one is more challenging but I don’t care. I’m not taking no for an answer. I’m giving it my 100%. Only I don’t know where to start the preparations. I am scheduled for employment testing next week.

On Bucket Lists and Number-of-Things-to-Do-Before-Reaching-this-Age Projects

My blog hopping the past days has enabled me to gain insights on things that preoccupy the mind of other bloggers at present. There’s this trend I spotted right on. Many of them have come up with a list of the things they want to do or accomplish within a specified timeline. While some call it a ‘bucket list,’ others call it a ‘ life project.’ But the goals are the same. They want to make a better person out of themselves by trying gutsy activities, experiencing unusual highs, accomplishing big things and engaging in extraordinary pursuits.

Online Shopping for Boots

I got my first pair of boots online thru eBay UK. I can still vividly remember how the Customs officers at PhilPost-Lawton tried to charge me exorbitant tax fees as if I were claiming a dozen pairs of footwear. My experience at the post office left me traumatized. I promised myself the next time I purchase something online, I’d choose the door-to-door shipping option.

My boots, on the other hand, lasted only for two months. It was mid-calf and made of synthetic leather. To think I had only used it twice made my trip to the post office more regrettable.

Christmas Bazaars are Love

Last Saturday, I finally started checking out bazaars with some blogger friends right after attending a blog event at Eastwood Mall. The other side of Eastwood called Citywalk was having this bazaar and I couldn’t stop looking around. I ended up getting several pieces of clothing, accessories and shoes. I spent close to P2,000 and at first I was wondering why I wasn’t regretting buying anything at all. I’m very frugal, you know. It must be because all the items I bought were dirt-cheap!
