Weekend Story: Carmona-GMA Road Trip and X-Men: Apocalypse in 3D

Last weekend was busy and fun. The hubby and I went on an impromptu road trip to buy some bike parts in Carmona and visit a friend in GMA (both places are in Cavite). We also watched the latest X-Men film in 3D at SM Manila. The rest of our time saw us doing household chores and taking some rest at home in Bacoor.

On Saturday, I intentionally skipped biking to sleep longer and continue reading this book on good manners for those “nice people” who sometimes say f*ck. Basically, it teaches how to behave well in public and deal with rude behavior in everyday life. I’ve been enjoying the read so far and I hope to finish it soon.

Weekend Story: Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road Trip (a.k.a. #PippoDay 2014)

The hubby and I, along with my mom and two sisters, went on a road trip yesterday. It was the 28th of September and we were remembering our little angel Pippo. Destinations were Tagaytay and Nasugbu. We left our Bacoor home at around 8:45am and reached Nasugbu two hours after. We were grateful for the nice weather (alternating between sunny and cool), the fun experience and our safe return back home.

In Nasugbu, we heard the morning mass (11:00am) at the Transfiguration Chapel housed inside Calereuga Retreat Center.

Palm Sunday

Yesterday was Palm Sunday or the start of the Holy Week. As we had expected, the neighborhood parish where we heard the morning mass was filled to the brim with people waving palaspas (decorated palm fronds). One look and you could tell they’re all there for two things: to reaffirm their faith in Jesus and have their palaspas blessed by the priest so they could hang it on their doors when they get home.

Traffic was bad on our way to the church. The hubby and I mutually decided that I go ahead so I could buy some palaspas and have them blessed (usually the blessing is done prior to the mass). And that’s what I did. He, on the other hand, stayed in the car driving. We just met inside the church. The mass finished on time despite the large crowd and the intense heat.

The District, First Ayala Mall in Cavite

Yesterday afternoon, the hubby suddenly invited me to go out. It was unusual because I was always the one dragging him to different places to unwind. Haha. Anyway, of course I said yes immediately. He was talking about an Ayala development somewhere along Aguinaldo Highway. After a 20-minute car ride, we reached The District, the first Ayala mall in Cavite.

The mall is already open to the public although most of the shops are still closed and construction is on going at one side of the complex. We saw several shops and restaurants that are already entertaining customers. They were Globe Business Center, Payless Shoe Store, People are People, Bench, Mendrez, Army Navy, Burgoo, Sumosam, Wee Nam Kee, Starbucks Coffee, Jollibee, and our favorite Manang’s Chicken. Opening soon are the popular J.Co Donuts and BonChon Chicken, among others.

Village Christmas Party

Last night was fun. We attended our first Christmas party together as a married couple. It was the Christmas party of the subdivision we live in. It started at 7:00 p.m. and ended a few hours after. The hubby is one of the officers of the new homeowners association so we got VIP seats.

There was a program, a raffle draw, some parlor games, some dance and song numbers (to entertain the crowd) and a lot more. Food was catered (there was lechon!) and some officers even brought homemade dishes for everyone to share. The hubby was requested to bring some alcoholic drinks and thanks to our S&R membership, we were able to buy some cheap but quality wines. The party ended with people dancing to the tunes of 90’s music. We headed home after the “exchange gift” part because the hubby was already sleepy and I was starting to feel tipsy from the red wine I drank.
