Weekend Story: Bonding with My Brother Over Food and Childhood Stories

Last weekend was still about family bonding. My brother Danison suddenly decided to join the hubby and I in Bacoor. He said he wanted to finish his lesson plan while enjoying a different environment. He also asked me if we could make some homemade pastillas and I said yes in a heartbeat. I still had some supplies at home so I thought it was possible.

After the hubby’s classes, he still had to drop by their office to render some overtime work because they were having network problems. Because of this, we left for Bacoor later than usual.

Weekend Story: La Cocina Food Tasting + Bacoor Staycation + Yakimix with Family

Long weekends are supposed to be relished. Our calendar only has a handful of them and so normally, people make plans to spend them well. I guess the hubby and I are not one of those people. Sometimes we have a plan, other times we don’t. Last long weekend, we didn’t have any. We just went with the flow. Of course, it was a given to go to Bacoor for a staycation (which we always enjoy!).

On Friday, we woke up late in Manila. Ay, ako lang pala yun. Haha. Anyway, the rest of the day turned out to be fun. In the afternoon, at around 4PM, we got an invite from La Cocina de Tita Moning to a food tasting of their new offerings.

Weekend Story: Simple Treats

Last weekend was all about simple treats. I made up for the down time last weekend (when I got sick with cold and cough) and treated myself to some little cravings. These were food and things. I was happy and content and now I’m blogging about it.

The hubby and I drove to Bacoor on Saturday afternoon, a few hours after his classes in grad school. We dropped by S&R Aseana-Baclaran to have some snacks. Choosing what to get for me was a no-brainer. I had been craving for their ice cream in my fave flavor and so I got a cup of it. I also indulged in a muffin. Solved!

Weekend Story: Sick and Well Cared For + Chibi’s Kitchen + China Rich Girlfriend Book

My cold started last week and its aftermath, the cough, continues to pester me until this day. I feel much better now, though, as compared to last weekend when I felt drowsy. I was very grateful to my husband for taking good care of me. If it weren’t for him, I would’ve felt sick and miserable all weekend.

Anyway, we arrived in Bacoor Saturday afternoon. We didn’t plan to go out that night but our toilet’s flush suddenly broke so we had no choice but to get a replacement. We drove to Evia-Daang Hari at 7pm-ish and checked out the Ace Hardware branch there. After finding and buying what we were looking for, we got out of the store and looked for a place to have dinner.

Weekend Story: At Home in Manila

The hubby and I have been missing our Bacoor home already. It’s been weeks that we haven’t visited it. I don’t know if the few plants in our plant box are still alive or not. I don’t know how our lone Malunggay tree is coping to the “dry” situation (though I have a feeling it will continue to thrive).

On a related note, our office clothes are of the same set. We just wash them during weekends for use in the next work week. Sorry, TMI. I don’t know if my officemates are already noticing my clothes, but what the heck. Haha. The good news is, we are going home tonight. Wohoo!

Weekend Story: Wedding in Batangas + Typical Sunday in Manila

Last weekend was special. The hubby and I may have not been able to go home in Bacoor but we had a happy and relaxing time in Manila with my in-laws. I, for one, had the chance to witness one of the simplest yet most intimate weddings, ever.

On Saturday, I traveled all the way to Lipa City in Batangas to attend my officemate and dear friend Gerlie’s wedding. (She finally married her childhood sweetheart after a decade of being in a relationship.) The wedding ceremony was held at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Parish and the reception followed at the main hall of Mt. Malarayat Golf and Country Club. The hubby wasn’t able to join me because he was still recovering from flu then. (He’s okay now, thank God!)
