Sick Day Monday

I had an LBM yesterday and so I wasn’t able to go to work. I was just at home nursing an aching tummy. I felt weak and sick. I missed my office computer. I missed working. I missed my officemates. I missed being well.

Getting sick is my least favorite thing. I hate staying in bed and doing nothing. Because I got sick for a day, I wasn’t able to do a lot of things. Like getting my nails done. Like canvassing for motor home repair online (don’t ask why). Like cleaning our bathroom. Like replenishing our pantry supplies. Like washing my dirty clothes. And a lot more.

Toxic Tuesday

This morning at home, I was feeling very lazy and had a difficult time getting out of bed. To be honest, I’m not feeling so well today. I even thought of taking a sick leave just so I could get more sleep. But my mature side won the mental battle and so I ended up in my office desk a few hours later.

It was a toxic Tuesday in the office. I did a lot of stuff and felt like a drained battery when lunchtime came. Actually, I was silently praying for time to pass more swiftly so I could take some rest before going to work in the restaurant tonight. Too desperate, I know.

Full Body Massage, Anyone?

Part of our overnight stay at a hotel here in Tagaytay is the complimentary one-hour full body massage. The fiancee and I had ours a few hours ago and we enjoyed it a lot. Personally, I just heart massages. If I were rich, I would get a massage twice or thrice a week.

Massages are good for the body and with the fast-faced life we lead, it would certainly make a big difference if we slow down once in a while and relax our tired muscles by getting a a good massage from a good masseur. By the way, the masseurs who gave us complimentary full body massage were really good at what they do. I regretted getting their contact numbers for home service purposes.Continue reading “Full Body Massage, Anyone?”

Free Bone Scan from Anlene

Anlene is a popular milk brand catering primarily to women who are pregnant or are already in their advancing years. When mom and I did some grocery shopping yesterday at SM Manila, we chanced upon their booth offering free bone scan while promoting their products. They brought a bone scan machine with them along with a medical technician to operate it. We just had to avail of the free bone scan and so we joined the queue and we were done in no time.

Guess what, mom had a low risk result while I was categorized under medium risk! How come she had stronger bones than mine considering our age gap? My mom howled with laughter after learning about my bone scan result. Soon enough I was laughing with her, too. Maybe, this has something to do with my dieting. I lack many important nutrients because of the limited food portions. I better start adding more calcium to my diet now. As for mom, she promised to lessen her coffee intake as we found out caffeine helps increase one’s risk level of getting osteoporosis and other bone diseases.

Two Pounds in One Week

As days go by, I have observed that losing weight becomes harder and harder. If before, I could lose two pounds overnight, now I can only do the same in a span of one week. It really seems that as we age, our metabolism slows down to a very depressing pace. And if you’re like me who live a sedentary life, the more you should expect it to happen naturally. What I do to maximize my weight loss is help my metabolism do its thing faster thru natural means such as drinking more water and adding more fiber in my diet.

this little surprise made my day!

You could imagine my happiness when I came home two days ago and found this package waiting for me. It’s C-Lium fibre and some A!Life products that help one’s posture and guess what, weight loss capabilities! It’s just what I need! As you know, I need all the help I can get to continue with my weight loss journey. It seems I don’t have to buy appetite suppressants yet. These should do for now and perhaps if they’re effective, I’ll stick to them for good. Haha.

I’m a Vicenarian, and You?

Aging is inevitable, and so is death. This realization hit me again this morning while I was looking at my reflection in the mirror. Though I don’t have facial lines/wrinkles yet (at least none that are very visible to the naked eye), I know it’s just a matter of time for them to appear in full glory. But I’m never afraid. Actually, I’m even looking forward to it because with aging comes a steady supply of wisdom and a wealth of experience.

But this post isn’t really about aging nor death. I just suddenly became amused with this list of age terms by decade that I happened to discover online:
