Weekend Story: Pope Francis and Family Bonding

Last long weekend can be aptly called the Papal weekend. The apostolic visit of Pope Francis to the Philippines was phenomenal, a once in a lifetime opportunity that’s filled with happy memories for our country and our people.

On Saturday night, the hubby and I fetched my in-laws at Mall of Asia (MOA). After that, we had a quick dinner at Solaire’s food court upon my recommendation. It was their first time there and I was glad they liked the food. Except for that meetup, we hadn’t left the house and were just glued to the TV screen all throughout that memorable weekend.

Weekend Story: In Sickness and In Health

I felt that last weekend was too short for a break from work. Maybe it’s due to the fact that I’ve been sick since Monday and I was actually looking forward to a long rest come weekend. Well, I did get enough rest on Sunday but it wasn’t enough for me to get rid of my nasty dry cough. I now feel better, though, as compared to last week.

On Saturday, the hubby went to graduate school while I overslept. When evening came, we had dinner at my PILs’ place and heard the anticipated mass at our neighborhood parish before hitting the road. We reached our Bacoor home at past 8:00 p.m. Early bedtime for us.

Weekend Story: A Time to Prepare and A Time to Think

Last weekend was quiet and productive. It’s the first weekend of 2015 and the hubby and I had no choice but to stay home. Actually, it was me who insisted on this. The hubby initially wanted for us to just stay in Manila because we were there on the first two days of the year for some worthwhile activities with family and friends. Good thing he listened to his wife without question. Haha.

I wanted to go home in Bacoor because I needed to have ample time to prepare (my wardrobe) and think (about work, family, etc.). So I did all those and a few more things. I felt happy and content. God has been so good to me in 2014 and hopefully, things will be better this new year.

Weekend Story: Pampering Session, Solaire Casino and Quick Home Visit

Last weekend was short but sweet. My Saturday was spent through a pampering session with Mame and my sister Jodie at this cozy, little salon in Makati called Edwin Lisa Salon. Well, it’s more like we just had our hair fixed there and we got very satisfied with the results. You may read more about our experience and see our hair makeovers here.

The hubby and I, on our way to Bacoor, stopped over at Solaire Resort and Casino. We wanted to try our luck at the casino by playing roulette. We don’t know much about the game; we just know about its “color betting” feature. That is, placing bets on the red or the black could win us the same amount as our bet. Easy to understand, right?

Weekend Story: Banquetta, Otterbox, California Pizza Kitchen and Walking at Night

Last weekend was special. The hubby didn’t have classes yet so we were able to drive to Bacoor on Friday night. On our way home, we stopped over at Banquetta (by Mercato Centrale Group, located just behind CCP) for a quick dinner. I wasn’t very impressed, though. There was very few selection of food and the crowd wasn’t as big as the one at Midnight Mercato in BGC.
